Environmental Impacts

Fracking poses tremendous danger to our environment.  It increases air pollution and the incidence of earthquakes.  The toxic chemicals used in the fracking process contaminate water and can spread during flooding.  Truck traffic to and from wells not only ruins our roads, but increases the prevalence of serious accidents.  Fracking has the potential to spoil our most precious natural resources and perhaps the most serious consequence of all is that methane, the primary component of national gas, is a much more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

All of these dangers are compounded because our government exempts the gas companies from many regulations.
